What We Believe

The Bible

The Bible is God's words to us and reveals His character. It was written by human authors, over thousands of years, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the supreme source of truth for living and is an infallible guide in all matters of faith and conduct.

Humanity

All humanity was created in God's image and likeness and to be like Him in character. Because humans (Adam & Eve), rebelled against God, everyone is now born with a selfish nature that causes us to sin and be disobedient towards God. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, we all still fall short of God's expectations for our lives and are unable to save ourselves from God's judgment.

Salvation

God, through Jesus' life and death, offers us the gift of undeserved forgiveness. If we repent of our sins, believe God raised Jesus from the dead, and confess, "Jesus is Lord," we receive God's free gift of salvation and we are reconciled to God.

The Church

The Church is the Body of Christ. It is a living, spiritual organism comprised of all followers of Jesus, worldwide.

The Ordinances of the Church

Jesus committed to the church two ordinances (outward evidences of inward faith in Jesus Christ):  Baptism and Communion. Through Baptism, every follower of Jesus publicly declares their faith in Christ's death and resurrection by being immersed in water. It is through Communion that we remember the suffering and death of Jesus, proclaiming His death and resurrection until he returns.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is equal with God the Father and Jesus the Son of God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need of Jesus. The Holy Spirit lives in every follower of Jesus and provides all followers of Jesus with the power to live a life of love, understanding, spiritual truth, and boldness in sharing God's message with others. The Gifts of the Spirit enable followers of Jesus to bring glory to God and build up His Church.
